Socioeconomic status of travellers in the Netherlands

During an outbreak of a person-to-person virus, people with lower SES may be disproportionately affected by mobility restrictions aimed at lowering the transmission of a virus, for example, lock-downs or limiting public transportation. These data summarize socioeconomic status (SES) of trips and travellers in the Netherlands. These summary data are from linking the Onderweg in Nederland (OdiN) survey data linked to socioeconomic status (SES-WOA) data on the Centraal Bureau voor Statistik (CBS) remote access server. These summary data inform inputs for infectious disease models which include SES differences in the population, especially their mobility. These models can quantify the epidemiological impact of mobility restrictions on vulnerable populations, such as people with lower SES.
