Origin-Destination Matrices for the Netherlands

Origin-destination matrices are useful as inputs for infectious disease models where the movement of people drives the dynamics of an epidemic. These OD-matrices describe how people travel in the Netherlands at the municipal level stratified by mode of transportation: by car, by public transport, or by another mode such as bicycling or walking. We derived these OD-matrices from the national travel survey 'Onderweg in Nederland' for the years 2018-2023 using a generalized linear model.
