Continuous Vital Parameters with Clinical Data of Patients Admitted to a Dutch University Hospital

Vital parameters measured with the VisiMobile (Sotera Wireless; San Diego, CA, USA) of inpatients at Radboudumc (Nijmegen, The Netherlands). The dataset records minute-by-minute measurements of vital parameters, including heart rate, pulse rate, breathing rate, blood oxygenation, and blood pressure (systolic, diastolic, and mean arterial pressure), together with a time stamp (hour and minute).

In addition to vital parameters, patient demographic data such as age, sex, and weight are included. Admission details encompass the reason for admission, medical interventions performed, diagnoses, lab orders, and prescribed medications. Furthermore, location of discharge and DNR (Do not resuscitate) status are reported. All data are available with timestamp as recorded in the EHR (electronic health record).

The dataset includes approximately 20.000 admissions with an average duration of four days.

The source of those admissions are about 15.000 different patients admitted between 2018 and 2024. The patients were admitted on one or more of the following departments: Surgery - Gastrointestinal Oncology, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Acute Admission Unit, Neurology, General Internal Medicine, Urology.
